ACW | November 3, 2026 — Pope Leo XIV on Tuesday asked Catholics to pray in November "for the proper use of wealth" in his monthly "Pray with the Pope" video, Vatican News reported.
The video was prepared by the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network, Vatican News said. "Nothing is ours alone — everything is a shared gift," the pope says in the prayer.
He asks God to "forgive us for storing up instead of sharing," and "for using goods as power rather than as service." True wealth "is not found in what we keep, but in what we give with love," he says.
The pope prays that every economic, family or community decision may "spring from a free heart, able to recognize that every good is meant for all, and that only by sharing we build the future."
Background: The Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network was founded in 1844 as the Apostleship of Prayer, is entrusted to the Society of Jesus and has more than 22 million members in over 92 countries, according to Vatican News. Pope Leo also released his World Youth Day message on Tuesday; read ACW's report.
Why it matters: In the prayer, the pope asks Christians to be "instruments of fraternity" and to turn wealth into "service and mercy," Vatican News reported; the intention is followed in November by a network of more than 22 million members.
ACW will continue to follow this story.
