ACW | October 26, 2026 — Mozhda TV, which its founders call the first Afghan Christian television channel, went on air on Saturday (October 24, 2026), as reported by Christian Daily International and confirmed by ACW.

Christian Daily said the channel is the product of a coalition of Christian organisations and Afghan Christian leaders. It currently airs in Dari and Pashto, with Hazaragi, Uzbek, Turkmen and Baluchi planned. The report said it also carries programmes for women, including health shows and content supporting their studies.

The channel's executive director told Christian Daily: "Almost everyone has a television and a satellite dish at home. The Taliban control the country, but they cannot control the satellites."

The channel's own website says it is made by Afghans for Afghans and streams online 24 hours a day in Dari, Pashto and English; it lists satellite broadcasting as "coming soon".

Background: Christian Daily International says an earlier interview with the channel's executive director and producer was published by a Finnish church outlet.

Why it matters: Afghan Christians have no legal status or public church in the country and rely largely on outside media for teaching and fellowship; this channel is one such route. No response from the Taliban authorities appears in the published reports.

ACW will continue to follow this story.
